Wagon Train Camp 2011

So, this was Hannah's first year at summer camp.  It wasn't a real tough sell since mom went along as a counselor.  We went to Hume Lake's Wagon Train camp where we lived in covered wagons, ate camp food, did crafts, played games and learned about God's great love for us through the life of David.  These were my girls for the week...the lovely ladies of the wagon Maryland.  They're the best.  These girls have grown up together.  I've known each of them since they were born and it was great fun to be able to spend the week with them...

Just Keep Swimming...

The girls started swimming for the Tigersharks again about a month ago.  We have had an unseasonably cold spring and we've had to encourage them to "just keep swimming" to keep warm.  They've been troopers and toughed it out though and have had fun competing in a couple meets already.  The weather is starting to warm up, so it should be smooth sailing...I mean swimming, from here on out.

Take your mark...the two in orange and black are my little Tigersharks.  I get the privilege of cheering on two swimmers in the same race.

That's Grace.  The fluorescent green cap makes her easy to spot in the water!

Sarah looks pleased with her race!

So does Hannah

This is what it looks when they are waiting to race and...

This is what it looks like after a long fun day at a swim meet.

It's the end of the school year - whoopeeee!!

It's the end of the school year and we have been busy with lots of fun activities.  I didn't get pictures of everything, but these are a few of the things the girls enjoyed...
*  Flea Olympics where the kids got to compete in physical fitness activities with their classmates
*  K-3 party at the park complete with water games and hot dogs
*  Open House where the girls got to show off all their hard work this year.
*  Cookie baking with Kindergarten

And last but not least an all out, last day of school water balloon assault planned by big brother and executed by Mom and Dad.

All four kids had a great school year. It is so fun to watch each of them grow and change over the course of the year.

Can you find all three Cobb girls in this picture from their Open House?

The "F" Word

Rob and I were eavesdropping on our daughters earlier this evening when we heard Grace proudly declare to Hannah that she knows the "F" word.  Hannah went for the bait and asked her what it was.  "Don't tell ok?" Grace made her promise.  "Ok" Hannah promised.  "Freakin'!!"

Yep...that's the "F" word!  Grace happened to use it in a sentence over the weekend when she got out of the pool at her swim meet and told me "That water is freakin' cold!".  I had to remind her that she is 6 not 16 and that we wouldn't be talking like that no matter how cold the water was.

Jesus Sighting

No we didn't see Him on our grilled cheese sandwiches or in our Cornflakes, but that would be cool too.

Each morning I try to pray with the girls before school.  We always thank Jesus for going with us to school and ask him to give us eyes to see Him and ears to hear Him during the day.  I try to remind the girls that He really is with them and that they can talk to Him anytime.

Anyway, today I thought I would ask them if they saw Him.  Grace said very matter of factly that she did and when I asked her where, she said "I played tag with Him at recess Mom.  My friend asked me who I was playing with and I told her Jesus".  Sarah said she did too and when I asked where, she said, "No one wanted to play with me and I was making a bark castle, (they don't have sand), all by myself and I saw Him".  They said these things with such honest, childlike faith.  May they remain in that faith their whole lives!

Thank you Jesus for really being with us!
