I bought tickets months ago for Rob and I to see Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel at Orange Blossom Junction in Exeter for Valentine's day. To say we were not disspointed would be an understatment. The food at this place was outstanding. Seriously, check their menu and see if you don't start drooling. It tasted as good as it sounds.
The concert...well, I have no words except to say that it was a joy to watch someone so gifted do what he was made to do. See for yourself...
It was a great night with my sweatheart!

Nowhere Today
Today Sarah and Hannah sailed to New York via Australia in a molded plastic outdoor chair with a jump rope for a seat belt. They were going to see the Statue of Liberty but got sidetracked when their sister asked them to help her build a workshop out of some old scraps of wood.
Sometimes I get so busy doing whatever it is I do that I forget to slow down and be present for these great little moments. Sarah and Hannah really weren't going anywhere, but as one of my favorite authors points out nowhere is really just now-here. So at least for a moment today I was nowhere with my girls. It was nice.

From the Mouths of my Kiddos
Grace: Mom what are those twirly things that go up in the air?
Mom: I don't know what you mean Grace.
Grace: You know Mom...those twirly things...croutons I think.
Mom: Oh, you mean batons.
Grace: Ya...batons. Mrs. White said she used to be a baton twirler.
Mom: Cool...that's even better than a crouton twirler.
Hannah: Mom, when am I going to get married?
Mom: I don't know honey. Only God knows.
Hannah: Mom, I think I know why you kiss the person you are marrying on your wedding day.
Mom: Oh ya, why?
Hannah: Because it's the first time you get to kiss your husband.
Mom: Yep...that sounds good.
( I swear I didn't plant that idea in her head, but since it's there...)

Snow Day
We spent the weekend at Camp Coarsegold (Papa Mike and Grandma Kris's). Sunday morning we headed a little further up the hill to enjoy the freshly fallen/falling snow. It was a perfect day. We even brought an ice chest full of snow balls back to Papa and Grandma's for a proper snowball fight.

100th Day of School
Last week, Hannah's class celebrated the 100th day of school. Each child was to bring a project made out of 100 of something. Here's Hannah with her log cabin made out of 100 Tootsie Rolls. I can't believe the year is half over already.
