Cobb Family Disneyland Top Picks List (and Not So Top Picks List)

Inspired by our recent trip to Disneyland and California Adventure our family compiled our "Disneyland Top Picks List" and our "Not So Top Picks List" below.

Top Picks
Rob
The new Nemo Submarine ride - Cool stuff for a sea creature loving kind of guy.

Keri
California Screamin' - I love a fast roller coaster. This one is my new favorite.

Hannah
The Teacups - 3 times on the teacups is enough to make any parent toss their cookies.

Grace
Soaring Over California - She was definately our adventurer.

Sarah
The Astro Orbiter - Round and round and up and down we went.

Not So Top Picks

Rob
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride - he got to ride with the scared screaming kid.

Keri
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride - not so wild and too scary for the kids

Hannah
Astro Blasters - a little overstimulating for her personality

Grace
Splash Moutain - all day long she asked to go on the water ride. Apparently she didn't connect water ride with getting wet. As soon as her pants got wet, the tears started.

Sarah
Space Mountain - just because your 3 year old is tall enough to ride one of the most exciting roller coasters in the park, doesn't mean you should put her on it. Bad parents.

This week marked our first ever family trip to Disneyland. As you can see below, the "happiest place on earth" did not dissapoint.

Out for a spin with Daddy.

Would you like a spot of tea?

Flying high with Dumbo

Guess which one is Goofy

M-i-c-k-e-y M-o-u-s-e

Blastin' off with Daddy

Even at "the happiest place on earth", long days + no naps + lots of sugar still equals Grumpy Kids!

Catchin' a wave at California Adventure

Hangin' with Uncle Ross

Yo Yo! $53 later, everyone's heads and eyes were fashionably covered and we had our overpriced Disney souveniers

"C" is for Cobb

Happy Endings!

Cobb Christmas 2007

We had a wonderful and whirlwind Christmas this year. We began with "A Walk Through Bethlehem" at a church in Bakersfield the Saturday before Christmas. It was a great re-enactment of what Bethlehem may have been like at the time of Jesus' birth. Most importantly, we got to spend some time reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas. The girls are anxious to go back to Bethlehem and are thouroughly convinced that Bethlehem is in the parking lot of the 7th Day Adventist church in Bakersfield. Sunday we traveled to Fresno where we enjoyed Christmas with Keri's brother and sister and their families. Christmas Eve day, we made a very fun and very cold trip to the zoo with Gitty, Auntie Kelly and Cameron. We went to a Christmas Eve service with Keri's mom and brother and spent the evening enjoying dinner at Keri's brother's house and watching the cousin's play together. Christmas morning there was a knock at the door and low and behold, it was Santa! Grace and Sarah thought this was very cool, Hannah wasn't too sure and Cameron hid in his bedroom the whole time. We had a fun morning opening gifts and took the kids to the park in the afternoon for sack races, soccer and baseball. We are home now and have spent the last couple days catching up on laundry and sleep.

A Kiddie Kollege Christmas

Monday, December 17 marked Hannah's first ever Christmas program. She was supposed to be a bell ringer, but in the overwhelming excitement of her first stage appearance, she sat motionless with her back to the audience the entire time. I did manage a picture of her beautiful smiling face on stage with her sisters and a buddy after the performance. All in all, it was a fun evening complete with cookies and punch for all.

Going to the "Nut-tractor"

Last night Hannah and I went to see the Nutcracker with a good friend. It was a great show and we had a great time. At the ripe old age of 5, Hannah has seen the show three times and has loved it every time. This morning when she woke up, she was telling Daddy all about seeing the "Nut-tractor". We both laughed and agreed we have officially lived here too long!

Fun with Cameron

Cousin Cameron visited us this week and we had a great time playing at the park and enjoying the lights at Lightasmic!
