Sarah drew this on her Magna Doodle this evening. When I asked her what it was, I thought I would hear something along the lines of "an M for Mommy". Instead she told me, you know it's from the "chicky nugget house". Ahh, now I understand. I've obviously done the McyD's drive through a few too many times. The broad scope of McDonald's advertising knows no limit!

The power of those golden arches is amazing. We turn to fast food way too easily now. It's 6pm, you have finished work, you have finished soccer practice, you still have to put gas in the car, and you haven't had any meaningful time with your child all day. You have two choices: You can make the kids ecstatic with a $20 trip to Mcdonald's while discussing the day and spending some quality time with them and then go home and have the rest of the night to yourself. Or you can go home, cook dinner, set the table, eat, pick up the table, and do the dishes just in enough time to get the kids in bed.
Fortunately, our lives are still uncomplicated enough to eat at home almost every night, but i fear the draw of those establishments, and I can certainly understand why so many people go. I feel like we go out to fast food way too much, but maybe i'm paranoid.
Here's to hoping that fast food doesn't end up as our dinner more often than not in the future.
