This is our Sarah. She is rambunctious, funny, ornery and sweet all rolled in to one very cute, lanky little package. Rob and I have commented many times that God knew what He was doing when he made her so darn cute and funny. She can be a real handful, but her funny little ways and surprising sweetness keeps us chuckling and melts our hearts.
As the girls get older, I have had to resort to any and all shameless methods for getting kisses from them. Quite often whatever they want comes at the price of 1 or 2 kisses for mom. Lately, I have been telling Sarah that my lips are lonely and she will almost always plant a big one on me.
So, about a week ago, after the other two girls were asleep, I hear her yelling something to me from her bed. I went in to see what she could possible need and this is the conversation we had:
Sarah: "Mom, are your lips lonely?"
Me: "(Chuckling) Yes they are! (Mom gets a big kiss)
Sarah: "Did that makes you happy Mom?"
Me: "Very much!"
Sarah: "Mom, what means lonely?"
Me: "It means my lips are sad and want a kiss from you."
Sarah: "Mom, I like you and I love you."
Me: "I like you and I love you too honey."
Sarah: "Mom, I like your shirt and your hair and your pants."
Me: "Thank you. Time to go to sleep"
Sarah: "I like blue and green and....."
Me: "Ok Sarah. Time to sleep. I love you"
She was still talking when I left the room and I was glad I had gone in with a small amount of patience instead of irritation at the post bedtime chit-chat. I love these moments. We have plenty of the other kind too...(you know, the screaming, yelling, hitting, kicking, I don't like you and you're mean moments), and I usually react with very little patience, a blue spoon and a bar of soap, but that doesn't make for very nice blogging. So I'll stick with the cute, funny and sweet. Those are the times I'd rather remember anyway.

My Sarah ~ I love that girl. I am gonna use that line on her too. Aunite's lips are lonely! I might get more kisses than the usual "Pay Up!" And I thought my house was the only house that looked that way (Pachelbel Bedtime)! lol
Love you!
Thanks for a "good night story" for us! Mom and Dad are ready for bed! :)
