Last week I enjoyed a much needed break from the horizontal position on our couch. I'll spare you the boring details of my time spent staring at our ceiling, but the bottom line is, I have been sick and tired for the better part of a month now (hence my absence from the blogging world and the title of this post). Yesterday ended the quest to find an answer to the reason for my persistent fevers, headaches, neck pain, joint pain, sore throat and exhaustion. After enjoying a few days of feeling almost back to normal up at my Mom's, I took a turn for the worse with a nasty sore throat and another fever...back to the Dr....this time an ear, nose and throat specialist who determined I simply had tonsillitis. Cool! Do I get to have my tonsils out and spend a few days recovering in silence with my favorite flavor of ice cream? No such luck unless you are a little kid. It turns out tonsillectomy is a pretty serious and somewhat risky surgery for an adult. So instead of ice cream and silence, I get antibiotics and lots of them (I'm sure I'll manage to slip in a little ice cream here and there too).
So, below are a few random photos of the last month...I'll narrate as we go.

See those white things at the back of my throat? Those are my tonsils. Apparently they are not supposed to look like that.

Through all of this, Rob has been super helpful with the kids and the house!

About a week in to my ailment, Rob got to take a break for a backpacking trip with a buddy. They met this cute little guy just off the trail right as they were getting back to the parking lot. He was too busy eating his lunch to care about a few hikers taking his picture.
These were my few feeling good days up at my Mom's. It felt good to get out and about and enjoy some fun with Rob, the girls and my Mom. We even got to zip up to Rob's Dad's house and enjoy a big family get together complete with BBQ ribs and chicken... Yum! Thanks for everything Mom. We had a great time.

OK, the tonsillitis close-up was a little bit gross. Glad your feeling better though!
